Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.
This Mark Twain quote was brought to my attention by Go Ahead Tours’ tour director Ali Bainbridge. In today’s political climate in the U.S., anything that will fight against prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness is essential to our future as a democracy. Let’s travel!
